Bhim, Chib spar over guest house room | NPP supremo has the last laugh | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 24: The supremo of National Panthers Party (NPP) Prof Bhim Singh had a hearted argument with Vice-Chairman of Kissan Advisory Board over a room in Dak Bungalow Poonch. According to sources, Prof Bhim Singh, who was on tour of the hilly district, had booked a guest house in Poonch and reached there on Friday afternoon. After attending public rallies, Prof Bhim Singh reached the guest house, and when he was having dinner, Daljit Singh Chib, the Vice-Chairman of Kissan Advisory Board, appeared there and asked for a room in the guest house, said sources. They said Prof Bhim Singh, only Barrister from the state, was asked to check out from Dak Bunglow Poonch at 9:00 pm by the district administration to satisfy the ego of Chib, who enjoys the status of Minister of State. "Chib wanted to reside in the room which was already allotted to Bhim Singh before his arrival. Chib lost his cool and directed the district officials to evict Bhim from the room," said sources. "The untimely appearance of Chib put the guest house management in a fix. They went to Prof Bhim Singh and asked him to vacate the room. Bhim however refused to do so, arguing that he was not feeling well and will not leave the room," said sources, adding that Chib was also adamant on having that particular room. Later, SSP Poonch, DC Poonch and other administrative officers reach the spot and tried to convince the two leaders, but in vain. "DC Poonch and SSP Poonch tried to placate the infuriated leaders, but when they felt that they have no takers, they left the spot," said sources. Talking to Early Times, Prof Bhim Singh said that despite having 'Z' security cover, he had rented two rooms for his security guard in a hotel far away from the guest house. Later, Chib was accommodated in another room, said sources. |
