TDC employees union opposes ITS management for privatization 12/24/2016 10:47:39 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 24: TDC employees Union has taken strong objection to the ill advised move of the management 'regarding privatization of various units of TDC. While jointly addressing a press conference, Suresh Sharma State President JKPPTU and Lal Singh President, TDC Union lambasted the management for privatizing the working of the corporation and thus jeopardizing interest of employees Sharma warned the management to desist from going-ahead with the process. The corporation management is hell bent to out-source and privatize various units of the Corporation which are detrimental to the health and interest of employees. The management should learn lesson from the past experience when the out-sourced private contractors have badly failed to run the units privatized earlier and defaulted mysteriously. These are Jhajjar Kotli, T.C Dayalachak, Lakhanpur, Chichimata and Jewel Restaurant Katra. This on one hand financially hit the corporation and tarnished its image built over the years. They lamented that instead of running the corporation on commercial professionalism management is being run by the bureaucrats who do not know A,B,C of hotel restaurant. The Corporation has all along been working in non-profitable areas as well to generate employment revenue and attract tourists to exploit the natural resources of the State. This duty of the Government is being' performed by Corporation on socialistic pattern totally different-from commercial point of view, he added. Sharma urged upon the employees to remain united for any struggle, who have been managing their units during turmoil and even in unrest in the valley. Corporation is going ahead with the privatization move of the profitable units even which is against clear violation of general guide lines of Government. for out sourcing "Non profitable units" only. Lal Singh and Sham Lal President and General Secretary of the Union appealed the management to stop this process immediately otherwise the union shall start agitation path. Manan Bhat, Nayeem Beig, Bashir Ahmed Gangoo , Mohd.
