Digital financial Inclusion and access aimed to minimize use of cash : Amir Magrey | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar Dec 24: After much hyped Demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes, the main focused is now shifted on financial transactions with an aim to move for cash less economy, which according to Prime Minister will bring an end to corruption. While talking to "Early Times" Aamir Rasool Magrey an associate of CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd which through its State Team has started an awareness campaign to train the people in different mode of cash less transactions, said that he (Aamir) along with his fellow District Manager for Kishtwar Suman Kumar are providing training to all the VLEs of District Kishtwar. He said that the training program focussed on Digital Finance awareness and it also covered issues like community mobilization, beneficiary registration, and holding of sessions etc added that trained VLEs will identify and mobilize the community as per the selection criteria: One person from each household to be selected in consultation with the Panchayat Representatives; "VLEs will organise the logistics like arrangement of the venue, setting up of audio-visual equipments, etc., and conduct the education/financial literacy sessions for 2-3 hrs on the given date" said Aamir Magrey added that each batch will range from 40 participants per group depending on the size of the venue and availability of participants. "In some cases, multiple batches will be scheduled on the same day simultaneously depending on the time and convenience of participants.Each CSC would cover 40 participants, one from each household i.e. each CSCs to cover 40 households from his catchment area" said Magrey. He said that account activation for average 40 citizens by each CSC and said that the program is a part of the rural India require awareness on digital economy, digital financial transactions, details about the Government's policies which would provides them an opportunity to come to the mainstream economy and move towards cashless economy. He said that an awareness camp was held at Kishtwar in which large number of students and people, beside employees are also participating. He said that the aim of the project 'Digital Finance for Rural India" was to create awareness and access through CSCs' and is further aim to reduce risks of un-informed rural citizens about digital financial aspects and bring them under mainstream economic system through CSC.He said that the objective of DFIAA is to enable the CSCs to become Digital Financial Education Hubs, by hosting awareness sessions in their community and Panchayat and for this VLE (Village Level Entrepreneur) had prime role which will be to inform rural citizens about government policies and about digital financial options available to them. "To enable citizens to access and use electronic payment system (EPS) such as IMPS, UPI, USSD, e-Wallet, Debit/Credit/Prepaid cards issued by Bank, Aadhaar enable payment system (AePS) and to sensitize and enable merchants at Panchayat level to use Electronic Payment Systems" said Magrey. He said that the VLEs will also create awareness across all the district of J&K through workshops and awareness drives. |
