Ex service men condemn ex-gratia to terrorist’s brother | | | Arun Trisal Early Times Report
Kathua, Dec 24: Condemning the ex gratia announced by the state government to Burhan Wani's (a self styled HM Commander killed on July 8) brother, the Ex-servicemen Welfare Association (EWA) members today lambasted on Peoples' democratic Party- BJP coalition government for extending healing touch to family of Infamous terrorist Burhan Wani's Brother Khalid Wani. Col (Retd) PL Choudhary, Chairman of the association (whose son Capt Sandeep Choudhary ( Veer Chkra-Sena medal) sacrificed his life while encounter with Maoists), said, "the Ex-gratia announced is nothing but a healing touch to Burhan's family as PDP government wants to secure vote bank and remain in existence, compared anti-national elements who are hell bent to disturb peace and tranquility of India and many young soldiers have sacrificed their lives for nation while defending the integrity of Bharat Mata. Expressing concerns over the Colonel (Retd) Mr Choudhary said," There is no ex-gratia to J&K based security persons who sacrificed their lives outside the state and merely 2 lakhs to local soldiers but what a big amount Rs 4 lakhs to Khalid Wani." "How could people accept the policy of ex-gratia especially to a kin of notorious militant as if the anti national/ traitors were being compared to brave soldiers, he asked. Capt. Gian Singh Pathania, President of the Association alleged that by doing so the Chief Minister J&K Mehbooba Mufti has insulted martyrdom of soldiers. The association threatened to hold an agitation against this ex-gratia if government does not revoke this healing touch of Burhan's family. Here it needs to mention that Khalid Muzaffar Wani, - the brother of HM self styled Commander who was killed in firing by security forces in Buchoo forest area of Tral on April 13 last year. |
