Jammu, Dec 24: All India Kashmiri Samaj an organization representing Kashmniri Pandit community today has sought a probe by the sitting judge of the Supreme Court into the exodus of the fraternity from the Kashmir Valley in early 90s. In its annual general meeting of All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), the executive members said, "'The Government must immediately constitute a Commission of Enquiry headed by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court of India to probe into the circumstances which led to the ethnic cleansing of the entire Kashmiri Pandit Community from Kashmir in 1989-90s. "Union government should prepare a blueprint for Comprehensive Resettlement and Rehabilitation of KPs in Kashmir," AIKS members said. They emphasized that the blue print must take into account the Political and Economic aspirations of KP community and address their Social and Security concerns. Speakers resolved that Bill for the management of Temples & Shrines, pending for a long time, needs to be passed urgently in the Legislative Assembly, so that the community can manage these assets and exercise control over these. They also demanded a through appraisal and review of PM's Employment Package needs to be undertaken in view of the recent unrest in the Valley. Earlier General Secretary AIKS, Maharaj K Pajan, presented Agenda of AGM, submitted Annual report, Approval of the Audited Accounts and forthcoming programmes in Jammu while Vijay Aima, President, AIKS in his address said that in the past twenty-six years of our exodus, Government has done precious little for the over-aged youth. Mr Aima appealed to the government to give special age relaxation to such youth, so that they can be considered for employment through the provisions made in the 'Employment Package'. Reiterating PM's package for exiled community needs reappraisal and review, former president AIKS Moti Kaul said that the PM's Employment Package, announced eight years ago, is flawed and has proved a non- starter. Kaul applauded the community for facing the innumerable challenges in exile with dignity, courage and persistence. In his address Col (Retd) Dr Tej K Tickoo Editor-in Chief, Naad, monthly mouthpiece of AIKS, stressed on the need to eradicate the social evils that are penetrating into our society. Dr Tikoo also stressed upon turning our monthly journal and mouth piece, NAAD, into a true voice of the community.
