BJP seeks Finance or Home, PDP reluctant | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 14: The BJP is unlikely to settle for less important portfolios. The party is insisting that it should be given either Finance or Home. The PDP, however is not agreeing to it. It is one of the key issues which is delaying the government formation.
"We had agreed to give chief ministerial tenure for full six-year to the PDP. But after that it is the Home and Finance departments which are most important. These are departments which decide the governance and policy making. We don't want to play the role second fiddle. We can't be Congress which was satisfied with less important ministries," said a senior BJP leader, wishing not be named.
The PDP has put this condition that it will have all the three important ministries. It had its say in the previous agreement with the Congress. Even NC had this agreement. But, it also created a sense of the resentment in the Jammu region.

Jammu, Feb 14 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Saturday announced its candidates for five out of 11 seats of the upper house, the elections for which are scheduled to be held on March2.
PDP has left one seat in valley for its ally the BJP and in return has nominated its candidate for one Jammu seat. The two parties will also get one seat each from Ladakh.
According to the party sources, PDP today nominated Saifuddin Bhat, Yasir Reshi, Javed Mirchal and Surrinder Choudhary. The party is yet to decide its candidature for Kargil seat.
