Srinagar, Feb 18: The incumbent General Secretary of the National Conference Ali Mohammad Sagar left no stone unturned to project his son Salman Sagar as his successor but all his attempts couldn't yield the desired results.

Salman's stint as a Mayor was not that eventful as his recognition remained confined to being the son of an "influential politician" who managed to push his son to the top post despite NC being in opposition in 2008.
Recalling the 2008 elections for Mayor's post in Srinagar one of the former NC corporators while talking to Early Times said, "Sixty-one out of 63 corporators voted in the elections. While three votes were... | |
