Anantnag, July 29: Despite his alleged involvement in infamous Gulmarg Land scam, Jammu Kashmir Government on Thursday posted Baseer Ahmed Khan (IAS) as new Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir. Khan replaced Dr Asgar Samoon, who has been posted as commissioner secretary transport.
The then Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Mehboob Iqbal and now a senior leader of ruling Peoples Democratic Party and senior IAS officer Baseer Ahmed Khan, who was then Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, are accused of illegal transfer of government land at famous tourist resort Gulmarg.
Khan allegedly misused his official position for illegal transfer of government land in Gulmarg worth crores of rupees. Anantnag, July 29: Senior party leaders in People's Democratic Party are aghast about government's decision to engage a group of 'facebookers' as advisors and analysts, who according to them have failed to deliver during crisis.
A group of party leaders in PDP are understood to have conveyed to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that she should have engaged experts and experienced people as advisors, analysts instead of those who are wasting their most of the time on social networking sites like Facebook.
