JAMMU, Aug 31: In a petition, accusing Domana police of hushing up the alleged murder of an elderly man at Sarora on the Jammu city outskirts, high court judge Tashi Rabstan has issued notices to DGP, IGP, Jammu, SSP, Jammu, and others, besides directing the Domana police station SHO to file the status report of investigation before the next date of hearing.

jammu, Aug 31: A cop-turned-land grabber has become the cause of nuisance at Subash Nagar where he is alleged to be throwing cocktail parties on the rooftop of a shuttering store.
"He has been hosting the cocktail parties on a daily basis, causing nuisance in the area. While partying, he and the invitees use unparliamentary language in an inebriated condition, the locals fear to raise their voice against them," according to police sources.

srinagar, Aug 31: A large number of government employees including several senior officers continue to stay away from their offices in the Valley while some have reportedly left for Jammu without seeking permission.
Governance has come to a grinding halt in the Valley with the Civil Secretariat witnessing minimal presence. Kupwara, Aug 31: An unruly mob on Wednesday attacked some quarters in Nutnoosa village of Kupwara.
According to sources, people who were protesting against law enforcing agencies tried to put the colony on fire.

Jammu, Aug 31: Notwithstanding the fact that Rs. 10,000/- salary has been proposed by Union Labour Minister to all contractual workers, working in Public or Private Sectors, its own organization-Jammu Kashmir Employees Funds Organization (JKEPFO) which provides social and financial security to workers, has denied salaries to contractual staff, engaged as data operator.
Contractual employees were initially appointed as data operators in 2015 but they have been deprived of provident funds facilities so far, showing double yardsticks for employees of JKEPO.
