After CEO points out discrepancy, Govt transfers 3 SPs | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 6 : A few days after the Chief Electoral Officer, Umang Narulla, pointed out a few police officers have overstayed at their places of posting the state government on Thursday issued the transfer orders of three Superintendents of Police. The officers who were transferred in Kashmir region are SP Baramulla Zubair Ahmad Khan and SP Kulgam, Muhammad Shafi Mir. "Both the police officers have been attached with the Police Headquarters," sources told Early Times. They said Additional SP Jammu has also been transferred. The Chief Electoral Officer CEO Umang Narulla had directed the state government to transfer these three officers as they had overstayed their present place of posting and it is in violation of the Election Commission of India guidelines. Sources said Mumtaz Ahmad has been posted as SP Kulgam and Suhail Munawar has been posted as SP Baramulla. Pertinently, the CEO had sought details on transfers and postings made after October 15 in the wake of allegations that the National Conference-Congress government had posted some "blue-eyed officers" at key positions before the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct for Assembly polls.
