Amidst allegation of selling mandates, BJP's national general secretary to visit Jammu today | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 6: As allegation of selling BJP mandates gaining momentum in different parts of Jammu region, national general secretary of BJP, Ram Lal along with an another senior leader of the party is visiting Jammu tomorrow to look into the matter. Ram Lal, who is general secretary (organisation) is known for taking strict action on corruption allegations. Credible sources in the BJP said that reports of protests against wrong distribution of seats as well as allegation of selling of party mandates have reached New Delhi. As soon as the reports reached Delhi that some workers have levelled allegations that mandates of some seats are sold, BJP leadership took strong exception of the allegations. Instead of sending any other leader to investigate the allegations, Ram Lal, who is himself looking after organisational matter of the party, decided to himself visit Jammu and to meet with those workers who have levelled allegations of selling mandates. Ram Lal's visit is significant because he is coming at the time when party is facing such a serious allegations. Meanwhile, sources in the BJP said that party workers at many places continued to hold protests against wrong distribution of tickets. The party is facing biggest problem at Kathua where angry workers have locked office. The workers have already warned BJP leadership against visiting Kathua town due to prevailing anger among workers against giving mandate to an outsider at the cost of dedicated workers. |
