Party rebels will make no impact on BJP's performance: Sunil Sethi | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Early Times Report Kishtwar, Nov 6: Bhartiya Janta Party Spokesperson Advocate Sunil Sethi in an exclusive chat with "Early Times" said that rebel candidates who were denied ticket by the party will make no impact on party performance in ongoing assembly elections. In a question regarding denial of party ticket to seven of its sitting MLAs and others that led to the revolt in the party, BJP Spokesperson said that the decision of denying mandate to its sitting MLAs has been taken at the highest level and in BJP, there is a democratic process to decide mandate. "The decision has been taken by very senior leaders, the party has tried to maintain a balance between the youths and the experience and we have given mandate to lot of new faces--- The thrust of the party is to give mandate to the people with clean image" said Sunil Sethi, adding "Party would not suffer if anyone denied mandate wants to contest because the voters are with the party and the voters know that the decision taken by the party in giving the mandate to fresh faces and ignoring certain sitting MLAs has been taken for the benefit of the party and in the interest of the public" said Sunil Sethi.Reacting to the comment made by Raju Jasrotia, Party candidate from Kathua in which Jasrotia said that if people voted BJP to power in Jammu and Kashmir, the party will abrogate Article 370, party spokesperson said that the party stand on Article 370 is clear that the said article had caused lot of damage to the state of Jammu and Kashmir and party favors its roll back. He said that the party is also of the opinion that there should be a debate so that consensus could be developed on the sensitive issue. He said that through debate, BJP wants to covey the massage to the people that it (Article 370) has caused lot of damage to both Jammu as well as Kashmir in terms of economy. " Prime Minister Narindra Modi during his visit to Jammu prior to Lok Sabha elections had also made clear that party wanted debate on it" said Sunil Sethi.
