Resentment among BJP MLAs over wrong allocation of ministerial berths | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 7: To pacify the sulking BJP MLAs annoyed over denying ministerial berths, a meeting of all party legislators was held today in which all senior leaders were present. BJP leadership was forced to convene today's meeting because resentment brewing among party MLAs who were not given ministerial berths and some of them have already launched a whispering campaign against party leadership. Credible sources said that while some of the MLAs have aired their anger against denial ministerial berths, some others have expressed their anguish over not getting what they deserved. In five most backward and neglected as well as widely districts of Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban only two Ministers of State (MoS) have been made despite the fact that party has won seven out of total 12 seats from this mountainous belt. One rebel candidate of BJP, Pawan Kumar Gupta has also won Udhampur seat. Party has made MLA Kishtwar Sunil Sharma and Independent MLA Pawan Kumar Gupta as minister from BJP's quota. "There is resentment not only among MLAs but among workers also", sources said and added that in Rajouri district BJP has given Independent charge to party MLA despite that fact that Cabinet minister charge is also given to MLA of PDP who belongs to neighbouring Darhal segment. Credible sources further elaborate that during the meeting some MLAs aired their anger against attitude being adopted by some ministers while fighting for getting plum portfolios. |
