Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 7 : The Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked the authorities to maintain status-quo over the selection list of Village Labour Workers (VLWs).
Justice Tashi Rabistan directed the respondents to maintain status-quo till the outcome of the petition. As per the details available with "Early times", in a writ petition filed by Yasser Hussain Zarger resident of Ward No. 13 Wasser Kund Kishtwar and others vs state and others, the honorable High Court after hearing the details of the council of petitioner advocate Nazim ud Din Qazi, directed the respondents to maintain status quo with regard to the selection of VLWs district cadre Kishtwar.
The main plea taken by the petitioners counsel during the argument was "whether the selection list made in pursuance of SRO- 342" and termed it as not applicable when the vacancies were notified.
Moreover, the petitioner council pleaded that two selection committees were constituted by the selection authority for a single advertisement which according to petitioner counsel cannot be justified.
