Jammu, Mar 7 : An awareness rally on crime against women was, organized by Gandhi Memorial College of Education Raipur, Bantalab Jammu. The rally started from College and culminated at village Nardani of Kot Balwal, Zone of Jammu. The rally was flagged off by thae Principal Gandhi Memorial College of Education Prof. G.L. Koul. The theme of the rally was "Stop Crime against Women". The students participated in the rally with full zeal and enthusiasm along with local women and lady panch. Slogan shouting students Marched on the road with Banners and holding play cards in their hands, awareness was also given on female foeticide, so-called ``honour`` killings, acid attacks, rape, trafficking and dowry murders. The students and people were urged to be extra careful and take preventive measures to avoid getting into such situations. The rally was staged here as a mark of protest crimes against women. The rally was held under the aegis of Women Studies Cell of GMCEJ. Large number of women, including young girls and boys took part in the rally. It was organized against the backdrop of increasing crime against women in the state and the nation. Indian girls and women face a barrage of abuses in the largely patriarchal country. |
