Jammu, Mar 7 : Jammu Sanskriti School observed International Women's day with strong measures to protect the human rights of women and girls. Various activities were held in the school campus to promote, celebrate and empower girl education. Students from Class-VIII, Raghav, Shalini, Nakul and Sujal presented a skit representily promotion of childhood primary education for all, especially for girls. Ansh, Yuvraj, Sara, Bhumika, Taruna, Sutikshan students from Classes V & VI went for an awareness campaign in the neighboring village with a message to put an end to violence against girls and discriminatory practices like child marriage, dowry harassment and malnutrition. The campaign efforts were highly appreciated by the villagers. In her message, Rohini Aima, Principal cum Vice Chairperson said that when a girl has the opportunity to be educated and healthy, not only does her benefit but the society as a whole is benefited. Educated girls take an active role in their communities to ensure that the rights of other women are upheld. S.Harpreet Singh Anand Chairman of the school applauded the efforts of the students and teachers in organising such an event and said to continue to take on strong measures to protect women & girls. |
