Jammu, Mar 7 : A programme, to celebrate International Women's Day, was organized by women employees of LIC and GIC at Jammu under the banner of Women Sub Committee Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association Jammu& Kashmir. The event was presided by Neelam Sharma, Convener of Women Sub Committee Jammu & Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, Comrade Neelam Sharma said that International Women's Day is celebrated every year on 8th March all around the world and it represents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women while calling for greater equality and encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women.
She said that it has been, only due the long drawn struggle, that the today woman has got the right to work, right to vote and right to equality. |
