Funds meant for construction of lanes, drains allegedly misused 3/8/2015 1:07:47 AM Early Times Report Hiranagar, Mar 7 : Block Development Officer Hiranagar and Gram Sewak of village Gurha Baledarn, Panchayat Bhaya, Hiranagar Tehsil allegedly misused the fund meant for construction of lanes & drains from Ajit Kumar chowk up to Ravi Tawi Canal. Ajit Kumar, President Kissan Cell apprised that a work has been sanctioned by the government as a BADP fund amounting to Rs 5, 50,000/- for construction of public lane from chowk Ajit Kumar house up to Ravi Tawi Canal. Ajit alleged both BDO and Gram Sewak to having ignored such project and started the work from the house of Chaman Lal and a piece of lane was again left by the authorities and in this way officials misused their official capacity and have made a policy of pick and choose. He said the authorities are making the construction work altogether a dictatorship and misappropriating the government funds. It is pertinent to mention here that the villagers moved an application to BDO Hiranagar for getting the copy of work order but said officer has not issued the copy till day. They alleged that the substandard material is being used in construction work as no cement being used by the authorities and only interlock tiles have been placed over the ground. The diverted construction work also has stopped in midst which shows apparently hints of scandal in the construction work. The villagers have complained to Vigilance Commissioner Jammu and sought severe inquiry in the scandal. Tara Chand, Ashok Kumar, Sat Paul, Samitri Devi, Asha Rani, Rattano Devi and many others raised the issue for long but no favorable step has been taken by BDO or Sub- Divisional Magistrate Hiranagar.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
