Protest held over damaged transformer

Kishtwar, Mar 7 : The residents of village Hullar, Hanjola and its adjoining areas today held a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) over failure to replace damaged transformer in the area and block the road for hours together to register their protest. While talking to "Early Times" the agitating people said that despite repeated request to the PDD officials to replace the damaged transformer as a result of which the area having population of over 2000 plunging into darkness. They said that due to non availability of the electricity, the studies of the students suffered badly at the time when their examinations are approaching very fast added forcing the villagers to choose agitating path. Later the senior officials of the department rush to the spot and pacified the agitating people by giving the assurance to them that the damaged transformer will be replaced by today evening itself. It was the assurance from PDD officials following which the locals lifted their protest.
