Jammu, May 11: Chairman All Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF), Nasir A Zargar has welcomed the recent decision of the government to put only concerned specialists and experts in key positions to run the affairs of highly professional and technical departments like Agriculutre, Horticulture, Information and the likes.
Congratulating Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, Chairman AJKAOWF said in making this timely and well-considered decision which will not only infuse a new lease of life; bring in greater professionalism and expertise, and give a cutting-edge outlook to the personnel manning them, but shall certainly have a positive bearing on the overall functioning of these technical departments.
While referring specifically to the department of Agriculture, the Chairman AJKAOWF bewailed the raw sense of adventurism shown by the previous dispension in its replacing the professionals manning director-level posts of the department by some officers from the bureaucratic set-up which ultimately weighed heavily and badly on the overall functioning and performance of these highly technical and specialized posts.
He stated that this new bold decision taken by the present government is a step in right direction and it was in the strict pursuance of this same policy that Minster for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura recently issued the orders for restoration of the post of Director of Agriculture Kashmir to a senior technocrat of the department. |
