Early Times Report
Jammu, May 11 : Blamed it on flawed eligibility criterion offered by Central University of Jammu that a ten days' National Workshop on Research Methodology is being organized by varsity, but not a single scholar from host University, has found place in selection list. According to the sources, CUJ is organizing a national workshop on Research Methodology from May 12 to May 21 for which applications were invited by Department of HRM of varsity and a selection committee was reportedly constituted to shortlist the candidates. The HRM department of CUJ, issued a final selection list of participants, (CUJ) which is also available on its official website, a total of 40 students have been selected but not a single scholar was from CUJ. The selected 40 participants included six scholars from Central University of Kashmir, five scholars of University of Kashmir, ten of University of Jammu, two of Aligarh Muslim University, two of Central University of Rajasthan, three from Baba Gulam Shah Bhadshah University Rajouri, three from Punjabi University Patiala, one each from Baba Bhim Rao Ambedkar University Luckhnow, IUST Awantipora, SMVDU Katra, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Devi Ahilaya University Indore and RMV University Tamilnadu. Moreover, the waiting list of candidates, which is also uploaded on the official website, also does not include name of any scholar from CUJ. Expressing resentment against the decision and selection list, a scholar of CUJ, pleading anonymity said that it was very unfortunate that not a single scholar of varsity was selected. "We have been pursuing integrated M Phil, Ph. D course, and we also have same need of attending National Research methodology workshop and if we attend, it would help us in future as attending a national research workshop carries lot of weightage", the scholar said, alleging that there were some M.Phil scholars from other universities who have been selected for the course, but scholars of varsity have been ignored by Management committee. "It seems a deliberate attempt made by our administration to keep us away from the learning of basic skills of the research", another scholar alleged. When contacted the organizing committee member, Dr. Shahid Mustaq of HRM department said that the workshop was only for Ph.D scholars, and in CUJ, there was no Ph.D scholars, so no scholar has been selected. When asked CUJ has been offering integrated M.Phil, Ph.D course, and M.Phil candidates also need the same classes, he said that according to the notification in the newspapers, the eligibility criteria was mentioned.
