Former minister and senior Congress leader from Bani, Prem Sagar Aziz dubbed Ambika Soni as `Gift Lady' and alleged that she was instrumental in selling party tickets and positions in lieu of cash as well as costly gifts, informed the sources present in the meeting, which was held at Old Shourya Motors complex in Gandhi Nagar and lasted for more than three hours.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting, included former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Gulchain Singh Charak, Mula Ram, Janak Raj Gupta, Hari Singh, Arvinder Singh Micky, B S Slathia, Lalita Sharma and others.
The dissident leaders unanimously decided to meet again within fortnight at Jammu for discussing their next strategy and course of action to take on incumbent PCC president as well as his team till a logical conclusion. Arvinder Singh Micky was assigned the responsibility to make arrangements for the next meeting, sources said.
Meanwhile, worried over the open revolt against him, the PCC president GA Mir rushed to New Delhi today for apprising the party high command and seeking intervention to rein in dissidents. According to the sources, he is likely to meet Ambika Soni late this evening and narrate her latest developments in State Congress.
As reported by the Early Times in its yesterday edition, the dissident group in the State Congress has formed a third front against G A Mir and his team. These dissidents are demanding immediate review of the PCC.
