5/11/2015 11:54:17 PM
Early Times Report

New Delhi, May 11: Vijay Aima took over as the new elected president of the All India Kashmiri Samaj for the term 2015-2018. The elections were held on May 10, 2015 at Lal Ded Memorial Convention Centre, KECSS, B-36, Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi-110048 by M. K. Kaul, Returning Officer for the AIKS Presidential Election.
He defeated Bhushan Lal Razdan, former Chief Commissioner, Income Tax and current President Gandhi Memorial College, Jammu by a big margin. Vijay Aima comes with a vast experience of social activism. Starting with Kashyap Kashmir Sabha Gurgaon, of which he was the General Secretary and later its President, he remained AIKS Vice President for six long years in the outgoing Executive Council of AIKS. He is a dedicated and a committed social activist who has contributed immensely to the cause of internally displaced Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir. He has been part of several meaningful delegations to the powers that be to plead the case and cause of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
His first reaction after taking over as the new President of AIKS was that election to this office has only re-doubled his responsibilities towards the KP community who need institution of AIKS now more than before. He further said that the institutional policies and programmes would continue but added that wherever the changes are needed will be carried out with the changing political scenario.
