Ramzanpura craves for attention | Whose baby is this? | | Mohd Irfan
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 23: In a glaring instance of official apathy, Ramzanpura area falling under ward No.60 of Janipur adjoining Paloura is a perfect example of government apathy. The locality sans basis amenities as the locals accused successive governments of apathy. "We are fortunate enough that our local MLA, Bali Bhagat has become a minister in the BJP led coalition government but to our utter dismay, the minister has not done anything for the locality," the locals said. However, being a MLA of Raipura -Domana, under whose jurisdiction this area 'Ramzanpura' falls, Bali Bhagat is seemingly not making any concrete efforts to direct concerned authorities to execute the work of the residents who are facing hardships since decades. Taking a dig at Bhagat, a resident Muzaffer said "We had high hopes from the MLA but he has not been taking up the problems of the area." "From roads to drains everything is not up to the mark. There are roads with potholes, ditches and choked drains which can cause an epidemic. The JMC is not paying heed to the pleas of residents," aggrieved residents alleged. With the holy month of Ramadan going on, the residents are craving for a sweeper. The area, it may be mentioned falls within the municipal limits of the city. The residents have taken up the matter with the JMC repeatedly but without results despite JMC Commissioner's assurances of proper and immediate action. The residents have threatened to take to streets within a week if there drains are not made functional and roads repaired. |
