Jugal promises establishment of premier hospital in Jammu, Khajuria speaks against discrimination with Dogras | | | Bivek Mathur
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 23: The state unit of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), which in fact, seems to be compromising over the establishment of the premier AIIMS today, once again trumpeted establishment of hospital in Jammu solely to befool Jammuites knowing an earlier statement of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh that the hospital would not be snatched from Kashmir. Now the million dollar question is-Why AIIMS issue is raked up by the state unit of Bhartiya Janta Party especially among those leaders who are not part of Jammu and Kashmir government? Speaking during a party programme here at Party Headquarter Kachi Chawni, Jammu organised to commemorate the sacrifice of Jan Sangh leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, Member Parliament (MP) from Jammu-Poonch constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma contradicted the statement of Dr. Nirmal Singh and promised that AIIMS would be established in Jammu at any cost. The statement of Sharma is further creating ambiguity over the establishment of the hospital. Further, the veteran BJP leader and MLC Ashok Khajuria from the same podium spoke about the discrimination with the Jammu region and said that the development of Jammu and "Dogras" especially is possible only when the "Ek Nishan Ek Samvidhan Ek Pradan" proposed by Dr. Mookherjee is implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Khajuria went to the extent that he said, "Dogras are not ready to bear the oppression in the hands of Kashmiri leaders anymore. Dogras are not the slaves of Kashmir based leadership. Jammu wants representation in all the fields of development and it is only possible after the implementation of policies endorsed by Jan Sangh leader Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee". Words of Khajuria were again perplexing as with BJP itself in coalition with the PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, it was not easy to understand who is trying to oppress and who is being oppressed. Other leaders who spoke on the Balidan Diwas of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee i.e. MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, veteran Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Farooq Khan, Sat Sharma were also heard of singing in different tunes adding to the frustration of Jammuites as who is favouring Jammu and who is not? |
