Reasi traders violate market regulations DC takes cognizance, fines violators | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, June 23: Violating the terms and conditions of market regulation and weights and measures rule, some traders at District Reasi are managing the guidelines of the market regulation at their own terms and conditions. These traders being outlaws are running their business at their own conditions instead of complying the guidelines fixed by the government. Sources said that the some traders at Reasi district including holy town Katra were violating the terms and conditions set by the government and are blundering the market regulation without any check. Sources also said that even at the holy town Katra, many cases of overcharging as well as selling rotten food stuffs were noticed in the past time, but still some of the traders at Reasi district were seen doing same. Narendra Kumar, a visitor told Early Times that the rates of food stuffs as well as fruits differ from shop to shop and rehri to rehri at Katra and each of the trader has its own rate, nothing is fixed. One more pilgrim, Arti choubey added that even the rates of some foodstuff are charged in excess even after having a price tag, but the customers are willing to pay only as if they don't bother money at such a sacred place. An official of CAPD said that a market checking drive was also conducted by CAPD, Food Safety and Legal Metrology Department at Reasi as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Reasi. He added that team inspected general stores, fruit and vegetable vendors, rehriwalas and sweet shops at Reasi and destroyed rotten vegetables, fruits and other commodities which were found unfit for human consumption. He added that the blundering traders were also fined with some amount for violation of market regulation as well as weights and measurement rules. He added that DC Reasi also issued directions to the concerned departments to keep close check on overcharging and quality of food stuff at Holy town Katra and an inspection team will also move forward towards Katra soon. |
