Amarnath Yatra: Security arrangements reviewed | | | Srinagar June 23:Ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra early next month, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police K Rajendra today reviewed the security arrangements for the same in a meeting at Anantnag. Security arrangements made for the yatra were reviewed at a meeting held at Anantnag which was attended by senior officers from state police, paramilitary CRPF, Army, Intelligence and civil administration, a spokesperson said. Threadbare discussions were held with regard to security and deployment for smooth conduct of yatra which is scheduled to begin early next month, he said. Officers representing different security agencies made detailed presentation about the deployment of manpower and other related arrangements for the yatra. DGP K Rajendra Kumar asked the officers to identify the sensitive places along the yatra route and to strengthen security grid. He said joint patrolling should be carried out round the clock in such areas and National Highway should be kept under continuous surveillance to foil any attempt of disruption by miscreants. "All busy places including langars should be brought under security cover and intelligence gathering accelerated, shared for making preventive measures. CCTV cameras should be utilised to get footage of busiest places," the DGP said.
