Companies fail on CSR front in Banihal 6/24/2015 12:35:16 AM Early Times Report BANIHAL, June 23: The companies engaged with different construction projects in Banihal have failed to spend the required percentage of money on local area development under Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR). Reports said that the companies and the agencies engaged with the construction of Railway line and fore lane projects in Banihal area, like IRCON, HCC, NAUYOUGA, AFCONS, CONCON and other companies are not spending money on local development as per the agreement. This money was to be spend under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in these areas where the people provide their agriculture lands for the construction of these projects. Locals alleged that one of the construction agency IRCON provided an ambulance to Banihal hospital and some school bags to the students of two three schools last year under this Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) which was not enough according to agreements. They also alleged that these companies or agencies have not even developed any public park in the area nor provided any school bus for local children. Moreover locals said that from Nowgam Banihal to Sangaldan area of district Ramban dozens of villages fall along these four way and Railway lines and tunnels. Locals have provided agriculture land and their residential houses at very low cost for these projects. They also added that due to the construction of these projects and with the blasting inside the tunnels effects the environment of the area and people suffered a lot even window panes of houses are broken in some villages of the area. Locals said that these agencies spend this money of Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) on some local blue eyed persons who assures these companies for smooth pace of work. They further added that some locals on the name of contractors got huge amount of money from these companies and assured them for smooth pace of work or any other objections. It is pertinent to mention here that the IRCON railway agency some years back assured the people of Banihal that they are constructing a public park in Lamber village of Banihal which was their mucking dumping yard that time.
