Book scam at JU: NSUI seeks resignation of DCD | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 11: Infuriated over recently exposed 'Book Scam' in University of Jammu, the National Student Union of India (NSUI) today demanded resignation of Director College Development and Chief Librarian. NSUI State General Secretary Avijot Singh said Medical books worth Rs 40,000 have been purchased by Vivak Sharma Chief Librarian JU on the directions of JK Kumar in order to get a lucrative commission because the books purchased were not required at all in the university. "This indicates that state exchequer is deceived in the name of purchases of those books which are not required. Vice chancellor came to know about this episode when the agent who supplied these books demanded their payment. He soon constituted a committee to investigate this irregularities", he demanded, adding that NSUI would not tolerate this attitude of corruption by the people like them. Sunny, District President NSUI Jammu also said that NSUI unit Jammu strongly condemns this act and registered their protest seeking suspension of defaulters till committee furnishes its decision. He said V C of Jammu university should take action against these two at the earliest otherwise a student movement would be led by NSUI to get justice for the students. |
