Jammu, Aug 11: At a time when Jammu and Kashmir battles with the gigantic problems of unemployment, the State Government's indifference to introduce job oriented computer courses in 24 Higher Secondary Schools of Doda district is adding to swelling number of the unemployed youth. Despite State government's tall claims, in the present era of information technology, hundreds of students of are still without basic computer education as their schools are without computer laboratories. Reliable sources in Education Department told Early Times that Doda district has 39 government Higher Secondary Schools, and most of them are running in rural areas in which students from weaker sections study. "15 schools situated in urban areas have computer laboratory but have no permanent computer teachers. This session government appointed teachers on academic arrangement for ten schools, but rest of five school remained without computer teachers", sources said, adding that it was very interesting that entire district Doda has no permanent Computer teacher. "In 1990's no one had thought that the computer industry would be a part of our day to day lives one day. But, now a days, be it banking, ticketing, messaging, day to day accounting or any other work, we use computers practically for every activity of our lives", a scholar Ankush Sharma said, adding that even, Education Department also guide students to download, upload form and submit fee online but surprising their own students were incapable to switch on these gadgets. Despite repeated attempts to contact Director School Education Jammu, Yasha Mudgal, was not available for comments. |
