| More associates of Dawood Baba enjoy plum posts | | Even VC's refusal could not lessen his influence | | K Koushal

Jammu, Aug 11: Strengthening his lobby in the higher education of the state, especially Jammu University, Dawood Baba has successfully adjusted more associates, besides Mubaseer, on the plum posts.
According to sources, a close lieutenant of Dawood Baba was appointed as a liaison officer in Bhaderwah Campus during the stint of Prof Amitabh Mattoo as the vice- chancellor, who although opposed his application.
"Irfan Goni was appointed as Liason Officer in Bhaderwah Campus, but then VC was adverse to his appointment owing to his alleged unpopularity," said sources and added that but Dawood using his personal clout managed to convince VC to appoint Goni as Liaison Officer at Bhaderwah campus in 2007.
Unsatisfied with the working of Goni, then rector Bhaderwah campus I.A. Hamal refused to give him extension. "He was thrown out of the Bhaderwah campus, but again the alleged clout of Dawood managed to adjust him as Liaison Officer in Reasi Campus," sources said.
As supposed by the farsighted Mattoo, I.A. Hamal, who was then rector Bhaderwah campus refused to give extension to Goni owing to his alleged "unpopularity". But once again Dawood used his influence and managed him as Laison Officer in Reasi Campus.
Again Goni was thrown out from Reasi Campus but later he was adjusted as Liason Officer in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium where D L Choudhary got infuriated with the work culture of the Goni and Choudhary told Varun Sahni he cannot tolerate Goni any more and will resign if Goni allowed to work here.
Fearing expulsion from Auditorium he was shifted to Kathua Campus where Rector of Kathua Campus came to know about the style of working of Goni and the Rector of Kathua refused to allow him to work in Kathua campus.
"Godfather of Goni again pleaded before Varun Sahni who then created a new post for the Prince of Jammu University which is off site campuses Development Officer and a special chair was placed for the close luitnenet of Dawood nowhere but in his own office in JU Campus.
Story does not end here and in the meeting with financial advisor, then registrar, Prof Naresh Padha demanded that the post of Assistant Registrar for all campuses along with other teaching and non-teaching posts will be created, but later he contained to give only one post for all campuses.
Now Dawood again allegedly used his influence for his close associate and converted the post of assistant registrar into Campuses Development Officer just to adjust his prime associates in JU permanently. |
