| Kathua, Aug 11: Inter Zonal District level tournament U/19 (Boys), in Badminton and Hand Ball of clubbed zone Hiranagar, Sallan, Marheen, Kathua, Lakhanpur and Barnoti, conducted by the department of Youth Services and Sports Kathua commenced here today. The aforesaid games were held under the close supervision of Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Kathua at St Xavier Convent School Hatli Morh Kathua. Among other prominent preset on this occasion were Uttam Singh PEM, Kumar, Sanjeev Singh, PET, Parveen Singh, PET and others officials officiating the competitions. During today's matches in Badminton (Singles), Madhav Mahajan of Zone Hiranagar defeated Aman Sharma of Zone Kathua by 21-9 and 21-14 points. In Doubles the team of Akhil Mahajan & Sahil Verma of Zone Hirangar defeated Pankaj Ram and Abhishek Verma of Zone Kathua by 21-16 & 21-8 points. Meanwhile in Handball competitions, only one team of clubbed zone (Lakhanpur Kathua and Barnoti) reported at the venue and subsequently no competition was held and same teams was provisionally selected for further competition. |
