| DPS, RRL BSF, SRML qualify for semi finals of Inter School cricket C'ship | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 11 : Inter School district level competitions in the discipline of Tennis Cricket, Taekwondo, Badminton, Handball U-19 yrs Boys, gets underway at Green field Gandhi nagar, Indoor Hall M.A Stadium Jammu and Dogra Ground Shastri Nagar respectively.
The tournament is being organized by the department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of Annual calendar of sports activities under the supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Servcies & sports and Sukhdev Raj Sharma District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Jammu.
Earlier, Madan Lal Jt. Director YS&S Jammu, declared the competitions open in a well attended function at M.A Stadium Jammu. While addressing the participants, he appreciated the participation of the players despite the hot and humid conditions. He further said that winning and losing is part of the game but it is the participation which matter the most. The main objective of the competitions is to select the district team in these sports disciplines. In all 97 Boys in Tennis cricket, 30 Boys in Badminton & Taekwondo, and 84 boys in Handball are taking part in the competitons.
The detailed result was as in Tennis Cricket Boys, DPS defeated Centre Basic HSS by 8 wickets, RRL High School defeated Model Academy by 13 runs, BSF Paloura defeated Lawerance Pb. School by 7 wickets and SRML HSS beat St. Peter Jammu by 39 runs.
The matches were officiated by B.K Tickoo, Pankaj Sasun, Mohd. Farooq, Mukesh and Jagtar Singh.
In Taekwondo U-19 Boys, 46 kg Aman Gupta of SRML , Rishav Goswami of C.B HSS (2nd)
-50 Kg. Rahul of SRML HSS (1st), Shahrukh of MIER School (2nd), in -54 Kg: Ankit of SRML HSS (1st), Javid Iqbal of MIER (2nd). In -58 Kg: Gourav of APS Domana (1st), Karan Chopra of Crescent Pb. School (2nd).
-62 Kg: Sanket Sharma of D.B.N School (1st), Sourav Mehra of S.M Jain HSS (2nd)
-66 kg: Gokul Sharma of Model Academy (1st)
-70 kg: Rajan Kumar of MIER (1st). Above 70: Pranav of MIER (1st)
The match were officiated by Atul Pagotra, Varinder Sharma, Taruna Khajuria
Badminton U-19 Boys, Semi Final: APS Nagrota beat BSF Paloura by 2-0 set, Model Academy beat APS Miran Sahib by 2-0 set.
Final: Model Academy beat APS Nagrota by 2-0 set, in Singles: Ravhav beat Tanvir Singh by 21-16, 10-21, 21-10 while in Doubles: Ravav and Parthpal beat Tanvir and Bhanu by 21-12,21-12.
Match were officiatd by ZPEO's Kiran Jyoti, Saroman Dogra, PET's Harcharan Singh, Sanjay Khajuria and Vikram Jamwal.
In Handball U-19 Boys, K.C Gurukul beat Guru Harkrishan Pb. School by 10-1, HSS Bahu Fort beat Hari Singh HSS by 9-1, (Punit and Chander of Gurukul three goal each and Vansh of Hari Singh HSS scored 1 goal).
Matches were officiated by ZPEO's Om parkash, PEM, Ajay Sharma, PET's Chander Shekhar, Mousmi, Sanjay Jamwal and Ravinder Singh. |
