Pakistan violated ceasefire 192 times in J&K this year: Govt

New Delhi, Aug 11: The Central Government has accused Pakistan of breaking the fragile truce between the two nations some 192 times, killing four - three civilians and one paramilitary personnel - and injuring 22 along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir until July this year. Replying to a question in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, the Minister of State for Home Affairs Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said 7,110 were displaced and 50 houses damaged in the shooting, adding that India had responded to these breaches immediately.
India's neighbour has been accused of breaking the ceasefire agreement 430 times last year, affecting 2.08 lakh people, Chaudhary said.The year 2013 saw 148 such infringements - in which two BSF personnel were killed - while 2012 witnessed 21 such violations, the Minister told the House.
