Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 11: The opening round of the competition in both boys and girls sections got underway in first ever Srinagar District Rifle Shooting Championship at newly constructed shooting range of Khalsa High School, Magarmal Bagh, here under the aegis of J&K Rifle Association. The three-day meet was declared open by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and president of the Association, Dilbag Singh. He interacted with the participants drawn from various schools of the district. The ADGP assured that those young shooters who excel in this event shall be imparted further specialized training to as to prepare them for the national level competitions. Earlier, member, Srinagar District Rifle Association, Danish Aman welcomed the chief guest and apprised him of the activities to be carried out during the championship. Among others present in the opening function were Omar Nedou, president, Srinagar District Rifle Association, Jaipal Singh, member, Public Service Commission, Harmohan Singh, president, Khalsa Education Society, Srinagar, Upender Jit Singh, Kuldep Handoo, Sharat Chander Singh and Principals of participating schools. |
