Bravery acknowledged: DGP issues orders of constable in favour of 'Rakesh'

Jammu, Aug 11: Acknowledging the exceptional bravery exhibited by the brave hearts of Udhampur who captured the Pak terrorist bare hand after Udhampur terrorist attack, the Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra Kumar, today issued appointment orders as constable in favour of Rakesh Kumar Sharma.
According to sources Rakesh Kumar Sharma s/o Kali Dass of Pakhlai at present NarsooChirdi Tehsil and District Udhampur, has been appointed as on operational grounds as Constable in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The Police Headquarters (PHQ) also recommended the government for accord the relaxation in qualification bar in favour of Bikramjeet son of MadanLalSupwal, on operational grounds for appointment as Follower in the Department.
Here it needs to mention that the state police reportedly have also recommended to the state government names of Rakesh and Vikramjeet for the prestigious Shaurya Chakra Award.
If recalled Rakesh Kumar and Vikramjeet, along with three other youth, were held hostage by Pakistani terrorist while he escaped from the spot of terror attack after his fellow terrorist was eliminated by security forces. The duo showing exemplary courage captured their abductor with the help of a few VDC members.
Later, the captured militant who is alleged to be a resident of Faislabad in Pakistan was identified as Mohammad NavedYakub who is second Pakistani terrorist captured alive after AjmalKasab convict of 26/11.
Here it needs to mention that earlier J&K National Panthers Party honoured the 'brave heart duo' with title of "Pride of Dogras" and also presented the duo with cash reward of Rs 21,000 each.
State president JKNPP Balwant Singh Mankotia also conferred the Panthers Bravery Award, which contains the logo of General Zorawar Singh.
Prior to this Minister for Health & Medical Education, ChoudharyLal Singh announced a cash award of Rs 50,000 each to the two these brave hearts from Udhampur who apprehended a Pak militant alive on Wednesday after terror attack.
Besides Rs 50000 cash reward each, minister also has announced IAY house to each and also asked DC Udhampur to prepare their job cases soon.
