ET Report
jammu, Aug 20: Dismissing the allegations of encroachment of State land leveled by a section of residents of Greater Kailash Colony, one of the partners who have constructed a Banquet hall near a nullah maintained that he is in possession of the valid revenue documents and relevant permissions for the construction from the concerned authorities.
Responding to a news report, the owner of the land Ranjan Gupta clarified that the construction of the Banquet hall was as per the laid down guidelines and denied any violation of norms.
"We have the mandatory UTEIC permission to construct the Banuqet hall. As per the laid norms, the minimum six meter of land is to be left from the wall/edge of the nallah whereas we have constructed the structure approximately 17 metres away from the nearby nallah there by leaving the space three times more than the prescribed limit," Ranjan Gupta told Early Times while producing the relevant documents.
He further said that only yesterday the Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Greater Kailash which had filed a case in the High Court against the construction work of the Banquet hall withdrew it after they got satisfied with the revenue records of the land on which the building is coming up and all relevant permissions in accordance with the norms.
Gupta said that according to the bye laws as per Jammu Master Plan (JMP) the minimum length of the plot must be 12 kanals whereas they proposed to construct the Banquet hall on 12.85 marlas of land which is clearly more than the set guidelines.
He further maintained that as per the report of Tehsildar, Bahu Jammu, no state land was encroached in the construction of the Banquet hall .
Moreover, we have left 2 kanals and 3 marlas of land along the nallah to ensure smooth flow of the water which is again more than what rules suggest.
On the allegations that a road in the vicinity is encroached upon, Gupta maintained that as per revenue records there is no such thoroughfare in the vicinity.
