Relatives allege murder; Court directs SHO Gandhi Nagar to investigate | New turn in death of Dr Bhupinder Singh | | Arun Singh Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 12: The controversy over the death of Dr Bhupinder Singh- who died in February 2015 when Swine Flu had broken out in the state, took a new turn when the relatives alleged that the doctor was murdered and a local court has directed the SHO Police Station Ganhdi Nagar to investigate the matter afresh. Initially when Dr Bhupinder Singh had fallen ill, he was treated in Government Medical College Jammu in February 2015 as Swine Flu suspect but later the medical reports confirmed that he died of Pneumonia. In a new turn of events, Manjeet Singh Risam son of Gajan Singh who is the relative of diseased and resident of Nanak Nagar, has filed an application in the court, alleging Kanwar Bir Kour-wife, Raghubir Singh-farther in law and Rajit Kour-mother in law of Dr Bhupinder Singh, of murdering him. The court of Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu, after receiving complaint U/S 302/404/&120-B RPC which has been transferred from the Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu directed SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar for verifying allegations made in the complaint, supported with affidavit, news paper clippings, in the light of direction of Supreme Court delivered in the case titled Lalita Kumari vs Government of Uttar Pradesh decided on 12-11-2013. The complainant in the petition filed alleged that diseased Dr Bhupinder Singh, who was putting up at his in-laws, had bitter relations with his wife. It alleged that the diseased had some problem in lungs in February 2015 and was admitted in the Medicity Clinic by pass Jammu where he was treated for two days and later he was shifted to GMC Jammu and was kept in Swine Flu ward. The complaint further alleged that all relatives prevailed upon his wife to take the doctor to Delhi for better treatment but she refused. After few days, Dr Bhupinder was taken to Max Hospital Delhi where he was declared brought dead. According to hospital reports, Dr Bhupinder had died eight hours before reaching hospital at Delhi. Doctors of Max Hospital told if wife of diseased was a doctor, she should have known that he was dead or alive." |
