BJP-PDP now lock horns over Transfer of College Principal | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 12: The fissures between coalition partners Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are once again wide open; this time over the transfer of a college Principal. Sources informed Early Times that the bone of contention between the coalition partners was the transfer order of College Principals No. 473-HE of 2014, dated 14/10/2014, according to which Dr. Anita Sudan was prematurely transferred from MAM College Jammu to Government Degree College (GDC) Samba vice Dr. Ramesh Chander, who was transferred to MAM College. Though Dr. Ramesh Chander had joined the MAM College on October 14 and Dr. Anita Sudan was relieved from college but she had secured stay from Court on October 16. During that time as the Secretariat was in Srinagar, on the written order of Nodal Principal, Dr. Ramesh Chander was asked to join GDC Samba, till stay order was vacated. After nearly one year, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice Tashi Rabastan on September 10, 2015 vacated the stay order, while dismissing the petition filed by Dr. Anita Sudan. Sources said that as per transfer order, Dr. Ramesh Chander was to join MAM College but he was not being allowed to do so and he was asked to wait further due to pressure being exerted by BJP leaders on Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar. "Though Higher Education department officials and its Minister are in favour of implementation of its own order, according to which Dr. Ramesh Chander was transferred to MAM College but pressure is being mounted on officials of Higher Education department to retain Dr. Anita Sudan in MAM College as her family holds very close allegiance to several BJP Ministers-", sources said. They further added that it was still unknown whether PDP would succumb to the pressure mounted by BJP or it would follow the rule book, ignoring the pressure. |
