Court notice to Ansari led JKCA on Farooq's petition | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Sept 12: A city court has issued notices to Imran Raza Ansari, Minister Youth Services and Sports, besides other members of 'rebel' JKCA group on a fresh case filed by Farooq Abdullah led group against them. The notice, issued by the court of Second Additional District Judge Sham Lal, directed respondents to file the response by or before September 18. The three time Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah along with General Secretary M L Nehru sought directions from the court to declare "null and void" the account opened in JK Bank in the name of JKCA at the instance and "connivance" of Sports Minister and his associates. The petitioners also sought direction from the court that Ansari and his associates be declared to have no authority to maintain, run and operate any bank account of JKCA including those at Branch office Air Cargo Srinagar and BC Road Jammu. "They be directed to restrain themselves from dealing with any way or operating the Bank Accounts of the Plaintiff Association," Farooq prayed. They also sought direction to J&K bank authorities to allow JKCA led by Abdullah to maintain and run these accounts without any interference or impediment. They have alleged that the bank authorities have allowed the operation of the bank accounts by some "unauthorized persons illegally and unauthorizedly pursuant to the so-called meeting and so-called election of the JKCA held on July 20 by the Ansari Group despite the fact that the said meeting and elections were put on hold by a local court at Jammu." The petitioners also contended that despite assurances by the JK Bank that the matter will be looked into and appropriate measures will be taken, there was no response from the bank. |
