LMD team books Restaurant owner 9/12/2015 11:52:48 PM Early Times Report POONCH, Sept 12: The Legal Metrology Department Saturday booked a restaurant owner for overcharging Rs two on the sale of soft drink. Following frequent complaints by consumers, enforcement team from Legal Metrology Department Poonch led by Assistant Controller, Kewal Krishan conducted surprise raid on various business establishments in Poonch town and booked a restaurant owner for selling 7-UP cold drink for Rs. 10 instead against the MRP of Rs 8 printed on the bottle. The over-charging of Rs. 2 on MRP of Rs. 8 printed on the bottle amounted to 25% extra illegal profit by the offender on MRP itself. The department has started the process lodge a case against the owner of the restaurant in the competent Court of Law. The Department warned the business establishments not to indulge in un-ethical/anti-consumer practices.
