Early Times Report Ramban, Sept 12: National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) organized a Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes at Maitra in District Ramban. The programme was organized for general public to create awareness about various Financial Products. FLC Ramban, appraised participants about all kinds of schemes and different financial products that were launched he focused mostly on newly launched Insurance Schemes and Pension Schemes like PMJJBY,PMSBY and APY. Nikhil Sharma, DDM NABARD, briefed about various schemes of NABARD about Financial Inclusion. He focused his address on activity like Dairy Farming and Honeybee Cultivation that was being taken up by most of the participants present on the occasion. He discussed various aspects of the dairy farming and honeybee cultivation activities including the pros and cons keeping in view the district scenario and appraised the participants and guest of the same. While Sushil Kumar, resource person on Producers Organisation from NABARD, J&K explained the concepts of Producers Organisation, it's benefits to small and marginal farmers, steps to be followed in the formation and various supports available from NABARD and other Government Organisation. He requested all the farmers engaged in honey collection and dairy activity to organise themselves into a Producers Organisation to reap the benefit of collectivisation like cheaper inputs and better price realisation to its members. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Sushil Kumar Manager, NABARD, Nikhil Sharma, DDM Ramban NABARD, Vikrant Dogra, Secretary of JKDCUL, Mohan Singh FLC Ramban, BM of Punjab and Sind Bank Maitra, Tahir Masood from Times of India and others. |
