Jammu, Sept 12 : Lambasting the social welfare department for its apathetic attitude towards the SC/STs/Paharies by not providing the scholarships, NPSU stage a vociferous protest demonstration at MAM College, Jammu here on today. The angry protestors raised the slogans against the state government, education department and social welfare department.
According to press release, Roopesh Singh President MAM College NPSU Unit disclosed that every year hundreds of aspirants of SC/ST/Pahari communities fill the application forms for the scholarships given by social welfare department but not even a single penny is disbursed to the students who aspire for higher studies. He said that even the education department is not serious about this issue and every year hundreds of students from aforesaid communities are hoodwinked and cheated in the name of scholarships by the social welfare department.
Others who were present in the protest demonstration included Nika Davinder, Nasar Hussain, Pratik Chetri, Pushvinder Singh, Imran Shakeel, Riyaz Hussein, Khuram Khan etc. |
