Redress Jammu based issues: Panthers Party appeals to PM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 5: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to redress the issues of Jammu region which always had been discriminated for decades. ''People of Jammu region had overwhelmingly voted in favour of the BJP and brought it to power wishing that the Saffron Party would liberate them from sufferings and regional discrimination by espousing their issues in letter and spirit,'' Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP Chairman told reporters here. He maintained that more than eight months had gone by since the formation of the State Government but the plight of the people of Jammu region stood unabated, Mr Singh said while reminding the Prime Minister that the obnoxious transfer of prestigious health edifice AIIMS to Kashmir which was actually sanctioned for Jammu region during the Union Budget session by the Finance Minister on February 28 in New Delhi, had stoked civil unrest which took the shape of a mass movement. Expressing his dismay over the MoU’s announcement on August 27 in which 98 cities were shortlisted for the development into Smart Cities from 28 States and 7 Union Territories, the former Education Minister pointed out that J&K was the only State which was kept out of the mega project race. |
