Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 5: As the Bihar Assembly elections are over, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to make his displeasure public against controversial statements of Sadhvi Prachi and other hardliners in Bhartiya Janta Party thus signaling that agenda of his Government is only and only development for all. According to the sources in BJP circles, an immediate statement expressing displeasure over the recent incidents and controversial remarks by BJP leaders is expected from the Prime Minister tomorrow, a day before his scheduled visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Even as the PM is not worried over return of some awards by a section of writers and intellectuals, sources said that the controversy erupted over film star Shahrukh Khan’s comment in an interview and subsequent hard hitting reactions of several BJP leaders, who went to the extent of terming this Bollywood star as agent of Pakistan, have disturbed Narendra Modi, sources said. While elaborating, sources said that the Prime Minister earlier wanted to avoid more controversy by making any statement or reaction over the issue of alleged intolerance as he was convenienced that the entire drama was enacted by some Leftists and Congress affiliated persons, who were feeling sidelined after the BJP came to power at Centre. Moreover, sources added, Bihar Assembly elections was main reason to keep a silence on these issues as polarization of votes was understood to help the saffron Party, which was facing a tough resistance by Nitish Kumar led front.
And now when Bihar elections are over and a visit is scheduled to Jammu Kashmir for inauguration of Baghlihar Project Phase II, commencement of work on four-lanning of Udhampur-Ramban National Highway and above all a public meeting in Kashmir, sources said that the Prime Minister is all set to come out with a `pacifying’ statement, most likely in an interview.
