Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 5: Kashmiri Pandits who are the victims of genocide and unfortunate migration from valley since the eruption of militancy in the state have nothing to look forward to the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narender Modi in Jammu and Kashmir.
Though they aspire for political reorganization of state and dignified return after the separate homeland is carved out for them, yet they are of opinion that while the erstwhile Congress regime had ignored their plight, Modi led NDA government too have nothing to offer them.
Panun Kashmir, a giant amalgam of KP representation led by different leaders have echoed the unanimous concern over Modi's nonchalance towards over their plight.
"Modi Government has to understand that any compromise on Jammu and Kashmir based on the Vajpayee -Musharaff formula or any other formula that gives parity to Pakistan in the state will lead the Indian nation on the path of balkanization. And by framing agenda of alliance with PDP by compromising the national commitment on Jammu and Kashmir BJP has shown that it is another version of Congress that has accommodated and accepted the Mufti led PDP's joint sovereignty ,non territorial settlement and dual currency anti national scheme under the garb of agenda of alliance," said Vijay Bhat, president, Panun Kashmir. The Kashmiri Pandits are also of firm opinion that no return and rehabilitation of their community to Kashmir is possible until Sanskrit Indian nation is established there.
"Until a separate homeland for Kashmiri Pandits free from Kashmiri Muslim slavery is carved out in Kashmir for us, then only there is possibility of our safe return and rehabilitation. The rehab packages announced from time to time are just illusions by the central government that have no substantial value to depend upon," said Amar Nath Pandita, 66, a Jagti township resident, originally from Habbakadal, Kashmir. He said KPs over the years have seen through various political machinations at different forums over their exodus from the valley and do not want to fall into any trap.
"Prime Minister too understands that KPs' belief is hard nut to crack and he is all likely not to speak any word on us in his state visit," said Pandita. Panun Kashmir convenor Agnishekhar termed 'return and rehabilitation' as soft terminology. " Return and rehabilitation has lost its relevance in ;present context vis-a-vis Kashmir situation. The valley's separatist ideologue nurtured by PDP over the years and now supported by BJP in governance has given a clear indication about the present dispensation's line of political deeds in valley where KPs could not find a place of pride and rejuvenation".
