Fisheries Department up in arms against Director for backing blue-eyed, corrupt | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report Anantnag, Nov 5: Middle rung officers of Fisheries department are upset with the conduct of Director Fisheries who according to them is backing corrupt and blue-eyed employees and officers. Highly placed sources said that a group of juniors officials have decided to bring the issue into the notice of Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Syeed as backing corrupt and blue-eyed employees and officers is affecting the functioning of the department. They said that Director Fisheries R K Dogra instead of taking action against the corrupt is patronizing them. "A month ago one Inspector was attached to Direction office for his misconduct but instead of taking action Director Fisheries let him off to a business tour. The Inspector from past one month is enjoying in Banglore," an official pleading anonymity alleged. He said that besides knowing the blue-eyed Inspector is working in a private school the director opted to shield him. "Director knew that the inspector who was posted at Pahalgam was working in a private school. Once the salary of the inspector was withheld for remaining absent unauthorizedly but Director intervened and directed concerned officer to release his salary," he added. "He was not attending his duties. Last time he was attached for troubling a guest at Pahalgam. Now I am being told he is in Banglore but I am apprehensive if is on leave," an official posted in Anantnag confirmed to Early Times. Sources revealed that the Director has also directed the officers posted in Kulgam and Anantnag district not to take action against those who are extracting gravels from protected nallahs of South Kashmir. "Transfers of the employees and inspectors in Anantnag and Kulgam are also being done by the Director. From past many years the blue-eyed inspector who run the illegal activity in Anantnag and Kulgam are being protected and aren't being transferred as they are source of income for the officers including Director," an employee of Fisheries department alleged. Director Fisheries, R K Dogra on being contacted denied the allegations and said that the Inspector who was attached to his office is on leave. "He (Inspector) was attached and I had posted him somewhere but he was on leave. I have now extended his leave for two months," Dogra told Early Times adding that he was not aware about his private Job. |
