NSF criticizes JU for its ill-conceived policies | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 5: National Secular Forum today strongly condemned the ill-conceived policies of the Jammu University which have started yielding adverse affects upon the academic improvement in the Institution bringing down its overall graph at the lowest ebb in the recent past. Addressing a press conference here today, General Secretary of NSF, Narinder Singh said that ever since opening of offsite campuses of the University in various parts of Jammu Division, no significant efforts have been made by the University to bring these campuses out of the transitory status at par with a full-fledged off-site campus due to lukewarm and wrong policies of the University authorities. He said that most of these campuses are running in the rented buildings and efforts of the University Grants Commission to strengthen these campuses to erect buildings and other infrastructure have met with failure due to the callous attitude of the Jammu University. He further said that an amount of Rs. 125 corers was sanctioned by the University Grants Commission during the tenure of Prof. Varun Sawhney, the then Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, for over all development of these campuses. |
