JYF stages protest against Chancellor JU 11/5/2015 11:36:34 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 5: Jammu Youth Forum staged protest against the Chancellor over the autocratic style of functioning at University of Jammu under the patronage of Vice Chancellor R D Sharma, who is adamant to play with the future of DDE students in order to settle vested interest. Addressing the gathering here today President University Unit Deepak Kumar said that ever since Prof Ramji Dass Sharma has occupied the chair of VC, he has been functioning on the strength of negativity on all the front. He also said that the functioning of the DDE has been put to jeopardy by not providing them the requisite numbers of contractual faculty and the logistic support to run the undergraduate courses with the tacit intention to weaken the DDE. He said that decision of Jammu University to break up the system of engaging contractual lecturers as normal and replacing it with outsourcing of teachers on lecturer basis has adversely affected the quality of teaching especially of students attending Personal Contact Programme, Internal Practical this year in Distance Education Department which is not a dependable arrangement.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
