Jammu, Dec 2: Red Ribbon Club (RRC) in collaboration with JK Aids Control Society today observed 'World Aids Day' in Government MAM College Jammu. According to press release, celebrating as a sequel to the ongoing celebrations of world aids day, RRC on Wednesday organized an extension lecture to educate student community. The resource person Dr. Rajesh Singh Bhau, Consultant Department of Oncology, Government Medical College Jammu who has the honor of being the first Oncopathologist of the state discussed at length the causes, symptoms and prevention of AIDS along with social stigma associated with the disease. The lecture was followed by an interactive session were students raised their queries regarding HIV/AIDS. The programme was presided over by Dr. Anita Sudan, Principal of the college. In her keynote address she discussed the overall scenario of the dreaded disease worldwide and cautioned the audience regarding fast spread of the disease. The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, HOD Chemistry and Aditiya Shubham student of B.A Honors while vote of thanks was given by Prof. Savita Jamwal. Others present on the occasion were Dr. S.C Sharma, Prof. Renu Nanda, Prof. Jozfeen Afzal, Prof. Nirlape Kour, Prof. Parabjeet Kour, Dr. Shushma Chib, Dr. I. A. Khan, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Gupta, Dr. Bindu Chib, Dr. Reena Rani, Dr. Subash Chander & Prof. Priya Darshani. |
